In the last year a whole wave of sustainability legislation have been approved by the EU institutions, addressing textiles and apparel – regardless if garments are made in the EU or just sold in the EU. In addition, further critical requirements are yet to be adopted. These rules are not advisory; if you do not comply - you will not be able to operate in the EU market. This expert talk will give the audience the latest update of the obligations the most critical pieces of legislation outline and provide a timeframe for implementation. Although all of this may feel overwhelming for companies, the expert talk will in addition guide the audience in prioritising and preparing for compliance.

Head of Circularity

Rannveig van Iterson is currently the Head of Circularity at Ohana Public Affairs – a boutique public affairs consultancy supporting clients on EU sustainability policy. Working mostly with textile and fashion industry clients, Rannveig oversees the work on EU circular economy policies, such as the Eco-design for Sustainable Products Regulation, the Waste Framework Directive, Waste Shipment Regulation, Right to Repair amongst others. Previously, she worked several years on EU climate policy and net-zero industry transition strategies in the industry programme team at the European Climate Foundation in Brussels. Before that, Rannveig worked at the EU office of the Norwegian NGO Bellona. Rannveig holds a MSc in Globalisation and Sustainable Development from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and BA in European Studies from Maastricht University.
